Ezra OST

Ezra is an imaginary 2D top-down puzzle-adventure RPG with tragic undertones. This is an imaginary mini-OST for Ezra composed of 8 chiptune centric tracks as a submission to Lone Rabbit’s July 2023 OST Composing Jam #6.

Story 

Welcome to the town of Evergreen, a town tucked away in a forest of trees and mountains. In this town is a long lasting group of historians, recording ancient myths throughout history. Enter Ezra, a teen from Evergreen who happens to be close friends with the most recent historian in the long lineage of Evergreen historians, Grandpa Joe. One day when meeting with Grandpa Joe, Grandpa Joe tells Ezra about his observations regarding cracks in time and space, and how it may be linked to the prominent myth among Evergreen historians, the Timeloop. The time-loop, having said to wipe everyone's memories with every loop, remained undetected for centuries. Equipped with their new found knowledge, Ezra journeys in hopes of breaking the ancient time-loop and freeing the world. However, historic records of the Timeloop myth never disclosed the purpose of the loop itself…

Tracks

1. Enter Ezra — Plays in the main menu and during the opening scene where Ezra awakes from their bed. 
2. The Town of Evergreen — The theme of foresty green Evergreen. Stroll through this small, cozy town until you encounter your close friend and town historian, Grandpa Joe, where he tells you about his recent observations about fractures in time and space. He believes his findings might indicate truth behind an ancient myth, the Timeloop. Equipped with their new found knowledge, Ezra journeys in hopes of breaking the ancient time-loop and freeing the world. 
3. Psithurism — Psithurism is described as a rustling or whispering sound, such as leaves in the wind. Ezra continues to traverse the abundant foliage among the mountainous landscape.
4. At the End — Plays as you approach the final stage of the game. Enter the God of Time and Space: Amyntas. 
5. TIMEBREAKER — It’s what your entire journey has led up to! The final showdown against Amyntas to save the world!…?
6. Tragedy Falls — The ancient time-loop has been broken, but chaos ensues when you realize the true purpose of the time-loop. The world crumbles apart and fades to black.
7. Nothingness — A stale, droning dirge. Plays on the black screen after the destruction of the world. Everything is gone.
8. Neo’s Room (Thanks for Playing) — If you reboot the game after beating it, you will be brought to Neo’s Room, where you get to meet the creator, Neo! Leave the room to roll the credits! Plays in both Neo's Room and during credits.

Thanks to everyone who listened to my OST! The tracks are a bit rough in some places since I only spent roughly 3-4 days on it. I didn't find out about this jam until about halfway through :(  But anyways, I had a lot of fun with this.
